Earlier this year, our Purple Surgical South Africa (PSSA) organisation based in Johannesburg was restructured and new Management & Sales teams were put in place. These changes were made to refocus the business and give it a new perspective for 2018.

PS: How is the new team settling in?

VC: We have hit the ground running. There is such a diversity of knowledge and experience within the team that success will be the inevitable conclusion for PSSA. This is an improved team who strive to serve their customers and provide the best level of customer satisfaction they can.

Check out the Meet Our Team section to put faces to the new team.

PS: What’s different about the new team?

VC: Our new team members have funder and reimbursement experience which is helpful in focusing our activities around reimbursement approvals of products. We have significant stapling experience within the team coupled with medical experience, from scrub sisters to medical doctors, to offer us valuable insights into the healthcare space in which we operate.

PS: What is your focus in 2018?

VC: This year we will be focused on increasing brand awareness. We want to show that we are a customer-centric organisation providing cost-effective and timely solutions for patient care, and commercial initiatives within hospitals. We will also focus on expanding in the surgical stapling market.

PS: What are you hoping to achieve in the South African market?

VC: We aim to be one of the preferred providers within the healthcare space and actively partner with BEE accredited companies in the public sector.

PS: Which geographical areas does Purple Surgical South Africa operate in?

VC: We cover Western Cape, KwaZulu Natal, Gauteng, Limpopo, Mpumalanga and North West Province directly with our 9 Territory Managers and an agent in Free State.  We have agents in surrounding countries and continue to develop these opportunities.

PS: Where can customers meet the PSSA team in 2018?

VC: We always enjoy meeting with our existing customers and potential partners, so please contact us any time.

This year we hope to be attending 2 congresses namely SASES and SAGES, which are focused around general surgeons and lap surgery. I’d urge any distributors that are attending to stop by our stand or contact me in advance and we can arrange a meeting to discuss potential opportunities.

In the meantime, if you would like to speak to Vanessa or your regional  PSSA Territory Manager, please contact our South African office on +27 (0)86 078 7753 or send us a message using the Contact Us Form.
