Essential Optical Trocars

The Purple Surgical Optical Trocars have applications in minimally invasive surgical procedures to establish a path of entry for laparoscopic instruments. The trocar may be used for primary and secondary insertions.

The clear optical tip enables visualisation of tissue layers during optically guided trocar entry.

The Purple Surgical Optical Trocar range facilitates insertion under direct visualisation, avoiding blind trocar entry.

Features and benefits include:

• Designed to support controlled application
• The Cannula`s universal seal allows easy exchange of laparoscopic instruments of 4mm diameter up to the selected model port diameter, without the use of a converter.
• Clear cannula was designed with ribbed retention ridges
• Fin style dilating tip promotes low insertion forces
• Robust, flexible and durable seal
• White locking button designed to hold laparoscope in position
• Designed to separate rather than cut tissue, minimising the risk of injury
• Reduces the risk of port site injury and facilitates rapid entry
• Reduced fascial defect compared to bladed trocars
• Minimises requirement for port site suturing
• Reduces risk of post-operative incisional hernia
• Reduces risk of vascular injury
• Reduces the rate of access related complications and risk of injury
• Reduces risk of trocar site bleeding
