On the 25th November Team Purple took part in the ‘Can You Handle The Heat’ challenge held at Canons Park in London, to support Rays of Sunshine.

On a very cold Saturday afternoon, our bravest colleagues attempted to walk over scalding hot coals to raise money for the Rays of Sunshine Children’s charity.

Before the attempt, thorough training was provided by Firewalk UK who have been training groups to fire walk for over 25 years.  They taught the theory behind a successful fire walk and also coached the team to prepare them mentally.

After that, the team was led by our CEO Robert Sharpe, into the cold November night whilst staring in horror at the fire and burning coals that were laid out before them – at this point, the coals were 660 degrees hot!

Robert was quickly followed by the rest of the team and with not a burn, blister or scratch in sight, we are pleased to tell you that they completed the challenge! In fact some people loved the adrenaline buzz so much that they went back for another go at the walk.

All of Team Purple completed the challenge and raised an amazing £1,400 for our charity partner Rays of Sunshine, adding to the grand total of £6,000.00 that was raised by the event overall.
