Just under 350,000 trees had been planted across Mount Kenya by the end of 2017. Well done IFT!
This year, planting is well under way this year with the onset of the rainy season, and the team has been busy organising the tree nursery groups to transport the seedlings to the various sites for tree planting.
Head of Customer Engagement for Purple Surgical Becky Roberts, says, “Purple Surgical chose to partner International Tree Foundation because of their passion to make a real difference in everything they do. This aligned completely with the Purple Surgical vision to put the patient at the centre of every medical device we manufacture making high quality cost effective laparoscopic surgery available globally to everyone, not just the select few”
Each tree planted will save an estimated 4kg of carbon each year – meaning that 20 million trees will eventually save 80 thousand tonnes of carbon every year.
Inspired by ITF, we have set our own challenge to reduce the impact on the environment that results from waste packaging. Read more here.
